Contrary to rumors circulating on social media, there is no ongoing global outage at SpaceX. However, recent incidents have affected several services linked to Elon Musk’s ecosystem, including the social platform X and ongoing developments within SpaceX.
Global Outage on X (formerly Twitter)
Today, millions of users reported major malfunctions on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter. This widespread disruption is not directly caused by SpaceX, but rather by a global outage at Cloudflare, a key web services provider whose issues are impacting numerous online platforms, including X.
Starlink: Stable, but with a history
The Starlink satellite internet service, operated by SpaceX, is currently functioning normally, according to real-time monitoring tools. However, in July 2025, Starlink experienced a major global outage lasting several hours due to an internal software failure. The issue was swiftly resolved by SpaceX engineers.
Starship Program: Progress hampered by technical setbacks
SpaceX’s next-generation rocket, Starship, continues its testing phase but has faced a series of challenges in 2025. Multiple test flights and ground operations have ended in explosions or cancellations, triggered by issues such as liquid oxygen leaks, pressurization anomalies, and excessive structural vibrations. While such failures are part of any advanced aerospace development process, they highlight the technical hurdles the company must overcome.
In summary, SpaceX’s core operations remain stable and unaffected by any system-wide failures. The outage affecting X is linked to Cloudflare, not to SpaceX directly. Meanwhile, the aerospace company continues to push forward with Starship development, despite ongoing engineering challenges. All eyes remain on SpaceX as it aims for lunar and Martian missions in the near future.
