ARJPDH, a Member of the Coalition for the International Criminal Court (ICC), Condemns Human Rights Violations in the United States
The ARJPDH, a member of the Coalition for the International Criminal Court (ICC), strongly condemns the alleged human rights violations committed in the United States under the Trump administration, particularly in relation to the expulsion and deportation of migrants.
Among those affected are asylum seekers who are entitled to legal protection under applicable national and international law. ARJPDH is deeply concerned that these protections may have been violated by the U.S. authorities. Of particular concern are reports that some victims have allegedly been subjected to torture and other forms of cruel, inhuman, or degrading treatment. There are also reports that live ammunition was used against some individuals.
ARJPDH considers these allegations extremely serious and calls for immediate attention from the international community and human rights organizations.
We therefore call upon the international community, the United Nations, regional and international human rights institutions, and all organizations dedicated to the protection of human rights to urgently investigate these allegations, monitor the situation closely, and take appropriate measures to ensure that the rights and dignity of migrants and asylum seekers are respected.
ARJPDH urges the U.S. authorities to respect their obligations under international human rights and refugee law and to put an immediate end to any practices that expose migrants and asylum seekers to torture, violence, or other forms of inhuman and degrading treatment.
Human rights must be respected and protected without discrimination, regardless of a person’s migration status or nationality.
