This recognition by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) celebrates President Museveni’s support for sports development in Uganda and across Africa.
Under his leadership, Uganda has seen a notable rise in sports infrastructure, youth engagement through football, and increased visibility on the continental stage.
The award also acknowledges President Museveni’s efforts to leverage sports as a tool for unity, peace, and national pride. His administration has consistently invested in football as a pathway for young talent to shine and as a vehicle for international collaboration.
CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe praised Museveni for his “visionary leadership and strategic investment in football development,” describing him as an “inspiration to other African leaders.”
